With the sack of Antioch, the Italian conquest falling apart and the Plague, the years 540-45 were like a nightmare for Justinian. The next five years would continue to bring bad news as war continues on every front and members of the Imperial family begin to pass away.

    I think there’s a law that any podcast that apologizes for technical difficulties must have a tiny but obvious technical glitch in it. That said, a wonderful podcast! It seems like this is the era when, maybe, everything could have been different.
