Jerusalem is fascinating (and I hope you get a chance to go if you haven’t already after the pandemic) but I don’t remember anything from the byzantine period left in at least the old town.
However, I don’t recall if you already mentioned this in one of your Justinian episodes but his rebuilt church of the nativity in Bethlehem still forms the nucleus of the modern compound. Though most of it is lost there are golden mosaics much like Ravenna in the main basilica nave- though smaller in scale they’re just as high quality and have been maintained where possible. I found it nearly impossible to get a decent picture on my phone though. You can even see the original mosaic floor from Constantine’s church via a trap door.
Nice. I haven’t visited and would obviously love to one day.
