Great episode as always, really enjoying these episodes. i am puzzled about the name Alexander. Why is he not referred to as Alexander ii rather than just Alexander, seeing as there was another before his him Alexander severus.

  2. I like the fact that his name is Alexander, and came form the *Macedonian* dynasty.

  3. I am dropping in to let you know how much I have enjoyed The History of Byzantium.

Kicking off the 10th century with a bang, wow! As always, really enjoyed the end-of-the-century episodes, and I’m looking forward to the century ahead!
