I found the theme music on Music Alley.com which has subsequently shut down. The site allowed you to use copyright free music in exchange for crediting the artist and the site.
Since the site has gone I now only need to credit Rob Van Den Berg who came up with the tune “Magistical Symphonic.” When I heard I felt it gave a sense of what I associated with Byzantine court ceremony. And I liked the early pause in the tune which made for a perfect podcast opening. I’ve since cut the music up slightly to use on the “Byzantine Stories” series. I’ll admit I made the choice in a rush but have never regretted it.
